Alliance Boots has struck a deal with beauty guru George Hammer to open a salon on the first floor of its Kingston store.
The store has undergone a five-month refit and reopened last week with a refreshed health and beauty offer as well as its first beauty franchise in the UK. Called U R Beautiful, the salon boasts nine treatment rooms and a range of bespoke products.
UK trading director Ian Filby said the store is the retailer’s best expression of a beauty floor and there are several locations in the UK where the format could be rolled out.
U R Beautiful has its own entrance so it can trade outside retailing hours. It is run by Hammer, who also created the Urban Retreat spa in Harrods.
