Administrator issued 40 sales packs
Bookworld, Bargain Books and bw! administrator Tom MacLennan of Tenon said he has received substantial interest in the business, following the announcement of its administration last week.

MacLennan said: 'We have been taking a large number of calls from interested parties for the business and have already issued 40 sales packs.

'A closing date for offers has been set for February 28. I am delighted with the level of interest, which reflects the strength of the brand and augurs well for the sale of the business as a going concern.'

The retailer, one of the UK's leading high street discount book chains, had a turnover of£30 million. Tenon is continuing to trade the business while managing the sale process.

Rival discount book chain The Works is understood to be interested in acquiring several of the locations.
