German jewellery and accessories retailer Bijou Brigitte has taken a unit at the Whitgift Centre in Croydon – its first in the UK.

It joins Swedish DIY player Clas Ohlson, which is also fitting out for its first UK store at the centre (RW, October 31). Meanwhile, H&M is relocating to a larger 25,000 sq ft (2,325 sq m) store in the scheme and Swarovski has opened a standalone store there after moving from a concession.

The 1.3 million sq ft (120,770 sq m) centre is anchored by Marks & Spencer, Allders, H&M and Bhs. Douglas Stevens & Company and DTZ are acting for the landlord.
