Department store chain Bhs is understood to be carrying out a review of its senior managers across its 185 shops.

According to The Sun, management teams have been asked to apply for a smaller number of new roles being put in place for April 6.

A letter sent to staff said: “It is possible that if the changes go ahead as planned, they would result in some redundancies.”

Bhs said it would do all it can to find alternative roles within owner Sir Philip Green’s empire. Last week Green revealed plans to integrate Bhs into his Arcadia business.
