Pets at Home’s Australian joint venture is introducing technology to improve productivity ahead of continued store expansion.

It comes at the same time as the company prepares to open its third and possibly fourth store in the country before the end of the year.

The Retail Enterprise Suite system will help Pets at Home to automate the production of promotional signage. Episys has had a relationship with the UK business for more than 10 years and uses its promotional signage, shelf-edge labelling and mobile applications.

The system will replace the Australian business’s labour-intensive process of creating promotional signage manually. The retailer expects to be more responsive to price changes as a result of the implementation.

Pets at Home Australia managing director David Herman said that the system enables the company to provide consistent information to customers.

He said: “We are using the signage system as a means to effectively communicate our offer to Australian consumers, which will save us valuable management resources.”
