Aurora Fashions is rolling out its 90 minute delivery service in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh from lunchtime tomorrow.

Using same-day delivery service Shutl, the service is expanding to more areas having previously only been available within the M25. Its brands Karen Millen, Oasis, Coast and Warehouse will all offer the service.

Aurora said previously that 91% of orders were delivered within the 90 minute timeframe when the service was first offered in London, with online orders fulfilled by nearby stores.

Shoppers can choose a one-hour delivery window, either on the day they order or on another day and Shutl says it is working with several other major retailers to launch outside London soon.

Shutl expects other retailers to sign up for the service too.

Shutl founder Tom Allason said: “This next phase of Shutl’s expansion will enable us to serve around 25% of online shoppers in the UK. Assuming everything goes to plan, we expect to launch across a further five cities in the coming weeks.  Our goal is to have sufficient coverage by November to give high-street retailers a significant competitive edge over Amazon and the other pure-play etailers this Christmas.”
