The fashion e-tailer, now capitalised higher than many main market-listed retailers, was a Christmas winner and is expected to continue blazing a trail.

Asos is thought to be close to carrying a big high street retailer’s product – possibly Topshop or Debenhams – on its site, as it did with Reiss last month.

Teathers advised buy and said: “Either of these names would be a major coup for Asos and add significant weight to its high street brands offer.” The broker said Asos has a convincing growth story and international expansion is a big opportunity.

House broker Singer said Asos is repeating the free delivery offers that helped it perform so strongly over Christmas during the Valentine’s trading period.

Singer said: “If take-up of the offer matches the previous examples, we would expect Asos to continue reporting very strong sales growth, albeit with some margin dilution.”
