George outfit will be Britain?s lowest priced
George at Asda will launch Britain's lowest priced school uniform next week, at under£10 an outfit.

The value uniform includes a polo shirt, vest, sweatshirt, underpants, socks, trousers or skirt and a pair of scuff resistant shoes. The£9.96 outfit price is for children from three to six years old. Larger outfits are also available for six to 10-year-olds at just under£13 and for 10- to 12-year-olds at just under£14.

George global managing director Angela Spindler said: 'Buying the back-to-school wardrobe certainly puts a strain on any parent's purse. Because we sell more school uniforms than any one else in Britain, we want to put more money back into our customers' pockets.'

However, the retailer claimed that its low prices do not come at the expense of quality or style. And by using fewer suppliers, the sourcing team now has strong relationships with its factories, all of which are regularly audited to ensure they meet both George's and the Ethical Trading Initiative's code of conduct.
