Asda has poached Tesco’s UK personnel director to be its HR director.

Hayley Tatum, who has been with Tesco for several years, will replace Chet Kuchinad, who left the grocer earlier this month seeking an opportunity in Europe.

Tatum joins a completely new management team under new boss Andy Clarke. Other newcomers include Simon King, who is chief operating officer, also previously at Tesco.

Kuchinad had been with Asda since 2009.

Clarke said in an email to staff that Tatum’s appointment completes his leadership team. He said: “Along with Hayley, this is the right leadership team to take us forward and create the next chapter in the Asda story. It’s an executive team that I know has the business acumen, retailing experience, creative flair and passion for the customer that will ensure we continue to win here in the  UK.”

Asda has today unveiled the second of its TV ads for its 10% cheaper Price Guarantee.

The second ad covers the different types of products shoppers can compare, including fruit and veg, milk and bread.

Asda said since APG was relaunched in January, it has seen a seven-fold increase in the number of shoppers taking advantage of it.
