No waste to landfill, claims grocer
Asda is to launch a Zero Waste to Landfill store at Canford Heath in Dorset, a move it claims will make it the UK's first retailer to recycle, reuse or compost all of its waste rather than sending it to a landfill site.

The store recycles about 20 per cent of its general waste at present, predominantly excess cardboard and plastic, with the remaining balance going to landfill.

Working in partnership with New Earth Solutions at nearby Wimborne, the Canford Heath store will compost its fruit and vegetable waste, as well as its waste bakery products.
