Cuts to save customers £60m
Argos is slashing more than 3,000 prices in its spring/summer catalogue - the most price cuts in three years - saving customers more than£60 million.

The catalogue, which launches tomorrow, has discounts on a range of products including lighting, sports, TVs, toys, video games and white goods.

Argos managing director Sara Weller said: 'Offering great value for our customers on such a wide range of products is what we pride ourselves on.'

The catalogue boasts 1,688 pages with more than 17,000 products and new ranges such as fire pits, garden features, floral tents and digital photo frames.

Argos operates 680 stores throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. In the last financial year, sales topped£3.8 billion. The company aims to add about 30 stores a year, to reach a target of 800 stores.

The retailer is part of home and general merchandise group Home Retail and its web site is the second most visited online retail site in the UK.
