Administrator to Clinton Cards Zolfo Cooper will shut another 47 stores by the end of next week in the next phase of its store closure programme.

It is understood store closures will total 256 by June 30 as Zolfo Cooper shuts a total of 350 branches, as detailed when the greetings card retailer collapsed into administration last month.

Zolfo Cooper said it welcomes expressions of interest in the remainder of the estate.

This month the remaining Clinton Cards business, including 397 stores, was bought out of administration by Lakeshore Lending, a subsidiary of the retailer’s largest creditor American Greetings.

The store closure programme began with 44 stores last month. Another 43 closed on June 8 and 122 closures were announced on June 15.
