Ann Summers signs managers to drive growth

Raunchy retailer Ann Summers has boosted its senior management team as it explores growth opportunities in Spain and develops a new store type.

Ian Wallis has joined from Top Shop as retail director, replacing John Clarke. Clarke is relocating to Spain, where he will assess the viability of opening more stores.

There is one Ann Summers store in Spanish resort Torrevieja, and marketing director Gordon Lee said the retailer was looking at opening shops in Spain's main cities.

Meanwhile, Craig Smith has joined from M&S as head of visual merchandising, replacing Sade Adelano. Smith will help launch a new store design for Ann Summers, the details of which are still under wraps.
