Aga begins its French push with Paris flagship

Cookers and cookware retailer Aga has opened its first wholly-owned store in continental Europe, a flagship in Paris.

The 200-strong retailer plans to expand aggressively in France, after acquiring a 40 per cent stake in furniture business Grange earlier this year.

Aga chief executive William McGrath said the intention is to grow the French business to 30 stores over the next three years.

He said: 'There is a lot of scope for us to expand in both France and North America.'

Aga plans to open another 20 UK outlets over the next three years, taking store numbers here to 150.
