Sainsbury’s has launched a standalone website for its Tu clothing brand, making the range available to customers across the country.

The supermarket giant said the whole of the UK will now have access to the entire Tu proposition for the first time since the brand was unveiled in 2004. The full Tu clothing range was previously only available in 160 Sainsbury’s stores, while “a selection” of clothing is sold in more than 400 of its shops.

Tu’s full range of womenswear, menswear and childrenswear is available to purchase on the new website, which launched this morning. Shoppers will be able to choose from next day delivery, standard delivery or click-and-collect, which Sainsbury’s said would be available in 710 stores, including 112 convenience stores.

It comes after Tu clothing sales grew to £800m earlier this year, making Sainsbury’s the UK’s seventh largest clothing retailer by volume and 10th largest by value, according to Kantar Worldpanel data.

Sainsbury’s director of online Robbie Feather said: “We are focused on providing excellent quality and value, with a talented in-house Tu design team. This launch is in line with our mission to give customers access to our products and services whenever and wherever they want and will significantly increase the reach of our already successful Tu brand.

“Customers have increasingly been looking to buy Tu online and we have seen a really positive reaction to the new site from the selection of postcodes that have had access to it over the past few months.

“We’re already seeing particularly strong online sales of dresses and childrenswear and look forward to customers’ reaction to the new site.”
