Fashion industry charity the Textile Industry Children’s Trust has rebranded to The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust as it launches a new campaign to promote its educational grants for children with special needs.

The charity, backed by retailers including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and John Lewis, said it is “modernising” with the name change and new branding and a website with links to social networking sites Twitter and Facebook.

The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust supports disadvantaged children of people working in the fashion and textiles industry, providing support that can come in the form of a grant for equipment or a welfare grant, for example.

The charity was founded in 1853 to help the widows and children of people working in the textile industry. The new identity was revealed at the Drapers Awards on Wednesday.
