Maplin managing director Dave Whittle has exited the retailer after 15 years at the chain.

Whittle departed the electricals specialist last month to “pursue other interests”, according to the retailer.

The retailer has experienced a management shake-up over the past year.

Serial dealmaker John Lovering was parachuted into maplin last September as chairman and former Somerfield managing director John Clelland joined as chief executive in April.

The pair are spearheading a £40m investment into the business which it is ploughing into its multichannel development and new stores.
