Carphone Warehouse has headed Down Under for its Christmas advert as it tries “something different” in its festive campaign.

The ad sees fictional TV personality Keith Lemon travel to Australia and experience the “wrong kind of Christmas” in the third advert of the retailer’s ‘Super Mega Personalised’ series.

Lemon, played by Leigh Francis, shows off Carphone Warehouse’s Pin Point app to locals in the outback.

The 60-second ad will premiere on TV on Thursday November 19, during I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here.

Created by agency Brothers and Sisters, Carphone Warehouse bosses admitted they were trying “something different” with this year’s festive campaign.

The retailer’s chief marketing officer Julian Diment said: “There’s nothing wrong with cutesy snowmen and Santas in Christmas ads, but we thought we’d try something different. Keith Lemon in the outback – it’s as wrong as being on the wrong phone deal.”
