Hobbs director of ecommerce Gracia Amico has left the fashion retailer after just 13 months.

Amico stepped down this month. She took up the role in January 2013, moving from Topman where she was head of ecommerce.

Hobbs marketing director Clare Dobbie will take on Amico’s responsibilities while the retailer seeks a replacement.

Amico is highly regarded in the world of ecommerce and at Topman launched three international sites in France, Germany and the US.

Amico’s departure comes after a difficult Christmas trading period for Hobbs, which resulted in private equity owner 3i writing down its value by 40%.

Two weeks ago 3i revealed its 47% stake in the premium fashion retailer had lost £14m since it was valued at £35m in September 2013. It had already dropped from £47m in March last year.

Hobbs appointed former New Look boss Phil Wrigley as its chairman in January. Wrigley succeeded Iain MacRitchie who had come to the end of his three-year term.

Hobbs has not disclosed sales figures for the Christmas period.
