Bonmarché chairman Tim Mason has stepped down from the retailer and will be replaced by former House of Fraser boss John Coleman.
Mason is also stepping down as partner of Sun European Partners, the private equity owner Bonmarché.
Bonmarché chief executive Beth Butterwick said Mason had “made an invaluable contribution to the business, before and during the IPO process, and as a public company”.
New chairman Coleman is already an independent non-executive director of Bonmarché and chairman of its remuneration committee.
However, he will relinquish responsibilities for the remuneration committee to Ishbel Macpherson, who is also senior independent non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee.
Sun European Partners has appointed Michael Hayes Kalb to the board to replace Mason and represent Sun on the board.
Coleman has been appointed for his “extensive experience in retail” that has included chief executive roles at House of Fraser and Texas Homecare and managing director roles at Dorothy Perkins, Topman and Topshop.
At present Coleman holds a number of chairman roles at companies including McColl’s, AGA Rangemaster, and Barchester Healthcare.
Until 2014 Coleman was also senior independent non-exec director of Travis Perkins.
