Premium footwear retailer Kurt Geiger is to launch a discount website early next year in a bid to grow revenues from the channel.

Kurt Geiger, which reported a 25% rise in sales over the nine months to October 30, will sell out-of-season or slow-moving lines of footwear on the site, set to be named Shoeaholics.

Last month the 63-store retailer said like-for-likes soared 30% in the week commencing November 15. Kurt Geiger said sales of towering heels above 120mm in height quadrupled compared to last year during the week as shoppers scrutinised and followed catwalk trends more closely.

The chain plans to open more than 32 stores in countries including Russia, Turkey and Malaysia over the next five years. By 2016, the total number of Kurt Geiger stores overseas will double from 19 to 50.
