Former House of Fraser and The Range boss Nigel Oddy is to join New Look as chief operating officer.
Oddy will take up the role on April 1 and will report directly to executive chair Alistair McGeorge.
Details of Oddy’s new role have emerged four months after Retail Week revealed he was leaving The Range after just a year at the helm.
Prior to his stint at the value business, Oddy spent a decade at House of Fraser, including the last two years as chief executive.
Oddy said: “New Look is a strong brand with 50 years of heritage and a great team. I look forward to being part of the business at this exciting point in its development.”
McGeorge said: “His operational expertise and significant retail experience will be a great asset to the team as New Look continues to deliver on its turnaround strategy and reposition itself for future growth.”
Oddy joins New Look as the fashion chain presses ahead with its turnaround plan.
The retailer launched a CVA a year ago, paving the way for it to shut up to 60 stores, and agreed a debt-for-equity swap with some of its key stakeholders earlier this year as it seeks to shore up its balance sheet.
It aims to slash its long-term debt from £1.3bn to £350m.
New Look is also reviewing its presence in international markets. In October, it revealed plans to close its 120 stores in China and in January its Belgian business filed for insolvency.
Earlier this week, New Look Poland filed for bankruptcy, while the business is also seeking a buyer for its French division.
