Like-for-like sales at US fashion and lifestyle retailer Urban Outfitters climbed 10 per cent across its fascias in the three months to October 31.

Urban Outfitters, which operates its eponymous chain as well as Anthropologie, Free People and garden centre business Terrain, increased sales 26 per cent for the period to US$478 million (£300.6 million).

Like-for-like sales at the eponymous chain soared 17 per cent, with comparable sales at Anthropologie and Free People up 2 per cent and 4 per cent respectively.

Chief executive Glen T Senk said: “We are very pleased with our results during the quarter as all of our brands and channels achieved significant growth.”

He added: “Given the recent economic conditions, however, we are approaching the holiday and spring seasons conservatively.”
