Yet-to-launch shopping centre Trinity Leeds has signed a raft of new retailers, including US lifestyle retailer Urban Outfitters.

The northern shopping centre will become the first major development to open in 18 months when it is unveiled in March next year.

Urban Outfitters will open a 12,000 sq ft store across three floors, making it one of the largest shops in the retailer’s portfolio.

Other new names to sign up include Footlocker, Internacionale, Watch Station and Fossil.

Trinity Leeds developer Land Securities said it was “continuing to make strong leasing progress”, with 80% of the scheme let or in solicitors’ hands.

The last major shopping centre to open was Westfield Stratford, in September 2011, after a development hiatus as a result of the downturn.
