Topshop is to inject true British spirit into New York when it opens its flagship store there this autumn.

The brand’s unmistakably British sense of style is likely be one of its big appeals and Topshop intends to take “key style advisers” from the UK to the States for the launch. The retailer is also recruiting for pivotal roles, including Topshop and Topman brand and assistant managers.

Topshop is discussing how best to promote the Manhattan launch. One idea is for a fleet of London red double-decker buses to advertise the store and ferry customers to and from the shop.

Topshop owner Sir Philip Green hopes to open the store in October. It is thought that supermodel Kate Moss, who designs a range for the retailer, is likely to play a big part in the launch.

Green is also considering a further roll-out of the Topshop brand in the US, but has not made a final decision on whether to open more shops or work with US department stores.
