Drinks retailer Thresher Group is to open 15 stores before December to ramp up its portfolio for the key Christmas trading period.

The new stores will comprise five Wine Rack and 10 The Local stores. They will all follow the new store designs that were unveiled in March.

Thresher Group will also expand its relationship with BP Connect and BP Express forecourts. It will supply a further 40 forecourts by December, adding to its existing 230.

Thresher Group trading director Lloyd Stephens said: “We will have five new Wine Rack and 10 new The Local stores open by the year end – this is great news for our existing and new customers, as well as offering significant growth opportunities for our key suppliers.”
