Tesco corporate and legal affairs director Lucy Neville-Rolfe has joined the board of ITV, the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster.

Neville-Rolfe, who joined Tesco in 1997, oversees a raft of regulatory, corporate and communications issues for the retailer. Prior to joining Tesco, she held a number of senior positions in Government departments including the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit in 10 Downing Street.

She joins the broadcaster as it undergoes a major restructure following a series of senior management changes. Archie Norman, ITV chairman, said: “[Neville-Rolfe] brings to ITV a unique combination with consumer and governmental experience as well as sheer intellectual calibre.”

Neville-Rolfe is chairman of Dobbies Garden Centres, deputy chairman of the British Retail Consortium and a member of the coalition Government’s Efficiency Board.
