Delivery business Shutl will no longer offer retailers same-day delivery and will instead accelerate work on its eBay delivery platform.

The marketplace giant acquired Shutl in 2013 and is focused on integrating the two businesses by launching a new range of delivery services for eBay sellers.

Shutl said that the success of the project meant that it had “decided to focus its efforts on bringing a range of competitively priced, convenient services to market to make shipping easier for both eBay buyers and sellers”.

Retailers who previously partnered with Shutl on same-day delivery will work directly with carrier companies from the end of the month. Shutl will continue to work with retailers outside of its same-day offer.

A spokeswoman said: “EBay is committed to creating an excellent buyer experience when it comes to delivery, and as a result Shutl is focusing on growing the service it has launched on the eBay platform.

“As part of this growth in the future, we may not rule out working on same-day delivery again at some point as part of a broader suite of delivery options for buyers.”
