Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group has opened its refurbished luxury flagship Cruise in Glasgow.

Spread across four floors and a mezzanine, Cruise features collections from some of the world’s most luxurious fashion houses.

The Cruise store includes collections from emerging fashion designers, as well as big luxury names such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Balmain and Burberry.

The store opening coincided with the reopening of non-essential stores in Scotland on April 26, marking a big day for the retailer.

Cruise’s interiors were designed by luxury London and Miami-based company Argent, whose other projects include superyachts and residential locations.

Frasers said that the opening of this store “demonstrates the group’s commitment to investing in bricks-and-mortar and reinventing the luxury sector.”

The group, which also operates Sports Direct, House of Fraser and Flannels, is seeking to open tens of new stores in the near future, as well as rolling out a refurbishment programme for existing stores.

Frasers Group head of elevation Michael Murray said:  “After 18 months of planning and a multi-million-pound investment today we open this newly refurbished Cruise store.

”Cruise, to those in Scotland, is known as an institution of luxury specialist retailing and thus, we’re pleased to be raising the bar for retail in the city.”
