Department store group Liberty has unveiled its Christmas windows, themed around festive season ballet The Nutcracker.

Liberty teamed up with the Royal Ballet, where The Nutcracker is being performed over the Christmas holiday, to create windows inspired by scenes and characters from the show, such as the Sugar Plum Fairy.

For the first time, the windows do not feature any merchandise and are designed instead to create a memorable experience which is mirrored inside the shop.

Liberty head of visual identity Liz Silvester said: “Recent Christmas themes at Liberty have taken on a more conceptual and alternative appearance.

“This year it was decided that music, dance and drama would be used to help bring out the spirit and charm of an exciting and emotive Christmas time.”
