Heatwave drives jump in retail sales in May
The twin bank holidays and a heatwave helped drive a jump in retail sales during May, according to the latest BRC-KPMG retail sales monitor.
UK total retail sales jumped 3.7% year-on-year in May, compared to 1% growth in 2025 and above the 12-month average growth of 2%.
