Shop Direct group customer director Dene Jones has parted company with the business after two and a half years, Retail Week can reveal.

Jones, who was responsible for the customer and insights team across retail, ecommerce, buying and merchandising, has left to “pursue other opportunities,” Shop Direct said.

The etailer’s group ecommerce director Jonathan Wall has taken on interim responsibility for the customer intelligence team, which was previously headed up by Jones.

It is unclear whether Jones has another position lined up elsewhere.

Jones joined the Very.co.uk and Littlewoods owner in September 2013.

He previously served as chief marketing officer at online gaming company Full Tilt Poker between 2008 and 2012 and also held the director of marketing role at rival gaming firm Bwin.party.

A Shop Direct spokesman said: “Dene Jones left Shop Direct in March 2016 to pursue other opportunities. We would like to thank him for all of the excellent work he did during his time at the company.

“Our group ecommerce director Jonathan Wall has taken temporary responsibility for the customer intelligence team. Customer intelligence will continue to report to group deputy chief executive Gareth Jones at board level, alongside other teams previously led by Dene.”
