Sales at Westfield London, which celebrates its second anniversary this weekend, surged 31% in the most recent quarter and jumped 26% like-for-like.

The mall is on track to generate sales of £800m this year – a £100m advance on year one – and footfall is up 22%.

Property firm Westfield also reported that its Stratford centre, scheduled to open in September 2011 in advance of the Olympics, is 75% leased or committed.

Westfield UK and Europe managing director Michael Gutman said: “Everything we have learned at Westfield London is being applied to Stratford and we are confident the consumer will be equally delighted with the end-product and the experience and buzz we will create.”

Recent signings at Westfield London include Coach and NW3, along with Whistles, Superdry, Phase Eight and others. The centre is now 100% leased.
