Retail Property - Hercules Trust agrees 14 new retail park deals

The Hercules Unit Trust, the number one owner/manager of retail parks in the UK, has let more than 110,000 sq ft (10,220 sq m) of space already this year in 14 deals across its 23-strong UK portfolio.

In the biggest deals, Borders and Sports Soccer are taking 13,000 sq ft (1,200 sq m) each at the Silverlink Retail Park in Newcastle atÂŁ28 per sq ft (ÂŁ300 per sq m).

On the Birstall Shopping Park in Leeds, HMV has exchanged on an 8,000 sq ft (745 sq m) unit at a rent ofÂŁ45 per sq ft (ÂŁ485per sq m). This is the final letting in phase 3 of the park, after Next relocated into a 16,000 sq ft (1,485 sq m) unit.

ScS has taken a 9,000 sq ft (835 sq m) unit on the Colne Valley park, Watford, forÂŁ34 per sq ft (ÂŁ365 per sq m). On Riviera Way, Torquay, Allied Carpets has taken a 7,000 sq ft(650 sq m) unit.

Andrew Jones, director at Pillar Property, which manages Hercules, said: 'We are seeing good demand for out-of-town accommodation.'
