Superdrug commercial director Steve Jebson is to leave the health and beauty retailer after three years, sparking a restructure of the trading team.

Jebson had been key in leading the new brand strategy, the launch of Superdrug’s loyalty scheme – the Beautycard – and the store refurbishment programme. He is due to step down at the end of July. His new role has not yet been disclosed.

The trading team will now be led by two buying directors appointed internally. Director of own brand Andrew Groom will become buying director for beauty, health and own brand, while director of toiletries Simon Comins is appointed buying director of personal care and convenience.

The team will be responsible for steering the development of the customer offer, own brand development and commercial best practices.

The new roles will report to parent company AS Watson health and beauty UK managing director Joey Wat. Wat replaced former AS Watson chief executive Jeremy Seigal who exited the business at the beginning of the year.
