Retail welcomes Crime and Policing Act gaining Royal Assent
Lobbying groups and retailers have welcomed the passage of the Crime and Policing Act being granted Royal Assent today.
The bill has now come into law, which includes major changes to legislation around how police respond to shoplifters, protects shop workers and gets rid of the £200 value threshold under which, before the changes, police would not have to respond to calls.
