This morning, the new Pets at Home chief executive, former Waitrose chief executive James Bailey, announced to markets that the business he joined just under eight weeks ago was making “material progress” in its turnaround despite falling sales and profits. 

Following Pets at Home’s results announcement, Bailey spoke to Retail Week about why he joined the business, what he makes of its turnaround plan and what success would look like to him.
