Greetings etailer Moonpig has appointed Finery co-founder Nickyl Raithatha as its managing director to succeed current boss James Sturrock.

Raithatha will join the business on July 2. Prior to establishing and leading womenswear brand Finery, he was chief executive of ecommerce at Rocket Internet.

He exited his post as chief executive of Finery last year but remains an adviser and shareholder with a seat on the board.

Moonpig is a subsidiary of Photobox Group. 

Photobox Group chief executive Jody Ford said: “Nickyl is an ideal successor to James. His track record in scaling businesses and passion for data-driven transformation of the customer experience will propel Moonpig forward through the next chapter of its incredible growth story.”

In addition to hiring Raithatha, Moonpig is also creating three new senior management roles.

Ronan Tighe joins as chief product officer, looking after digital product and user experience. He previously headed up product management at Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.

Simon Doggett joins as head of experience design. He previously held design leadership roles at Farfetch and M&S.

Jo McClintock has joined as brand marketing director after five years at Lebara, where she led the brand through its sale to a private equity firm.
