Dame Lucy Neville-Rolfe, the former executive director of Tesco’s corporate and legal affairs department, has been made a Conservative peer in a list of new appointments revealed today.

Dame Lucy, who was made a Dame in the Queen’s birthday honours list last year, joins 30 new peers across the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Green parties.

The former government high-flyer retired from Tesco in January after 15 years at the retailer.
