BRC responds as government says zero-hour contract ban could cost businesses £3bn
The British Retail Consortium has called on the government to drop plans to ban zero-hour contracts, as the government said it could cost businesses up to £3bn to implement.
In a document published by the government today (August 12), Labour said that the administration costs of implementing its planned ban on zero-hour contracts could rise to £2.9bn – depending on which workers the proposals ultimately ended up covering.
