Multichannel retailer Otto has appointed Koert Tulleners as chief executive to head its UK operations.

Tulleners previously ran Otto International in Asia and has been with the group since 1994.

Otto said Tulleners' experience both inside and outside the group will help Otto UK establish a sustainable foundation for the future of its mail order businesses.

Last month, Otto UK revealed that incumbent chief executive Mike Hancox would leave following a strategic review.

As part of the review, it was also decided that Otto’s delivery service Parcelnet, the most profitable part of the business, would be managed separately to its home shopping brands, which include Freemans, Grattan and Oli.
