If ever there were businesses that took a long-term view, they’re Primark and parent ABF. As they prepare to demerge, it will be vital that mindset is not jeopardised by the often short-term attitudes of the public market, says George MacDonald

After 60 years, why is now the right time for food and – for the moment – fashion giant ABF to demerge Primark? If there’s one characteristic that has marked out both, it’s a long-term approach.
