Furniture and interiors retailer OKA Direct has bucked the downward trend in the homewares sector to report 24 per cent year-on-year growth for its first half.

The retailer, which is run jointly by Annabel Astor – Conservative party leader David Cameron’s mother-in-law – sells through 11 showrooms, a web site and mail order catalogues. It was established in 1999.

OKA is extending its retail space in both Fulham and Oxfordshire and opened its largest outlet in Saffron Walden, near Cambridge, recently. It plans further expansion later this year.
