Heatwave keeps consumers at home as retail footfall falls

Total UK footfall fell in July, as searing hot temperatures kept consumers at home and off the high street.

Total UK footfall decreased 2.1% year on year in the four weeks from July 5 to August 1, according to the latest BRC-Sensormatic footfall data. That was compared to a 3.4% dip in June.
