John Lewis has appointed former British Airways director Paul Coby as its IT director.

Coby will take up his role on March 21, and joins from British Airways where he was chief information officer, responsible for the airline’s IT strategy, design, development and operations, for the past 10 years.

He will join the John Lewis management board, reporting to managing director Andy Street.

Street said: “Paul’s record at British Airways speaks for itself. He’s a heavyweight in the IT industry, and therefore it is excellent news that he is joining our business to help us realise our ambition to become a leader in technology. We all look forward to welcoming Paul and to seeing the benefit of a dedicated IT director in John Lewis.”
