• Former Whistles CFO Phil Mickler joins Jack Wills
  • Jack Wills current finance boss Ian Johnson quits after decision not to launch IPO
  • Chief customer officer and global supply chain director also appointed

Fashion retailer Jack Wills has named a new finance boss after the current incumbent quit the business following its decision not to float.

Phil Mickler, former finance boss at Whistles, will replace Ian Johnson as chief financial officer this month.

Mickler spent six years at Whistles and prior to that was finance boss at Diesel and finance controller at Topshop.

Jack Wills revealed last August it was cancelling its plans to launch on the London Stock Exchange.

“Following the group’s decision to not proceed with a public listing of the business in the foreseeable future, Ian (Johnson) has decided to resign and to seek other opportunities,” the retailer said today.

It has also appointed a new global supply chain director, Tim Allinson, and promoted Mark Wright as its ecommerce managing director.

Wright joined last year and was previously head of trading for UK ecommerce at Marks & Spencer.

Sophie Neary, who previously worked at the business on an interim basis, becomes chief customer officer. She has a consultancy background and has previously worked with Asda and Tesco

Chief marketing officer Emma Seller and global business development director Sanjay Sharma have also left the group.

The pair decided to step down due to Williams’ skill set in marketing and branding overlapping with their own.

Last year Jack Wills founder Peter Williams returned as group chief executive following a two-year sabbatical.
