South African retailer Pick n Pay has extended the deadline for the sale of its supermarket banner Franklins to Australia’s third-largest grocer, Metcash, by two months.

The sale has been opposed by the the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission due to concerns it would lessen competition in Franklins’ operating region.
