Carrefour’s greek arm Marinopoulos will face the Competition Committee at the end of April, according to reports in the local press.

Carrefour Marinopoulos faces charges that it violated competition regulation in respect of its franchising model and the operations of its 5’ Marinopoulos grocery stores network.

The retailer is reportedly accused of determining the prices in its head office and then forcing franchisees to sell their products accordingly.

In addition, the head office is accused of not allowing franchisees to buy directly from the suppliers, which would have violated competition laws.
