Ikea is to use augmented reality in its 2013 catalogue. The new features will let consumers access films, interactive experiences and photo galleries using their smartphones, it has been reported.

A digital version of the catalogue will be released in the US on July 31 and the print version will be distributed from August.

The catalogue will allow browsers to scan pages and images to access extended content, including 3-D models, image galleries and behind-the-scenes videos.
