US-based home improvement retailer Home Depot is to close its remaining seven big-box stores in China. However, it will keep a new formats team in the country to continue research and development. In addition, the retailer is retaining two recently opened specialist stores in Tianjin – a paint and flooring store and a Home Decorators Collection store.

The retailer is also in the early stages of building relationships with several leading Chinese ecommerce sites.
